Empowerment of Families

Helping Hands Project supports families with small self-employment projects so that they are empowered to stand on their own.

Medical Care

We would arrange all necessary medical consultations and deliver medicines and medical equipment to the needy.

Child Education

We provide support to school children from needy families. This includes the provision of school uniforms, school bags, stationery and shoes.

Dry Rations

Economic crises and inflation have affected many families. We arrange the provision of dry rations to needy families through an established network.

Features

With your help

We aim to help less fortunate families around the island.

Most of the Sri Lankan community suffers immensely in all spheres of life. The daily wage earners and those in villages affected by the COVID pandemic are in a desperately poor plight due to the present “social tsunami.” The children are badly affected as they can not continue their education due to many social factors, and the self-employed are unable to continue with their trade due to economic constraints. We aim to help needy families all around Sri Lanka.

For Less Privilaged

Food
For Needy People

Sri Lanka is facing a great financial crisis. Bringing food home is not a possibility for many families. While our aim is to empower families to stand on their own, we have to support them to survive the economic storm.

Medical Facilities
for People

Financial crisis has affected health care not only at individual level but also society as a whole. There is scarcity of essential medicines at every level of care. As health care professionals we have a grater ressponsibility in this area.

Education
For Every Children

Education is the most significant tool in eliminating poverty and unemployment. It is probably most important tool to change one's life. Children affected by poverty need our help to achieve their goals through education.

Partners

Helping Hands is a social responsibility initiative by the College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka. We have partnered with "Gammada" program of Maharaja Organization to find the needy families and to supervise the continuous care for the same.

WHY WE ARE BEST

Why Choose Us?

Helping Hands is a social responsibility initiative by College of General Practitioners of Sri Lanka. CGPSL has been an academic body that always thought outside of the box. While living up to its professional values as an educational body, it also carried forward many activities that directly benefit the community through clear and robust practical initiatives. We had always tried to help the communities in our small way in the past. Following Tsunami disaster in 2004, the College formed a Task Force for Disaster Management (TFDM) which helped those affected. The collelge could raise funds to the tune of roughly Rs. 14,300,000.00 from our well-wishers in Sri Lanka and abroad. This project continued till 2013. All accounts were audited, and accounts were submitted to the well-wishers in a very transparent manner.
  • We have the experience

We have the experience in supporting the community in the hour of need.

  • We are accountable and transparent

All our accounts will be audited and donors will know how their money was spent.
