Ms. CNK (A 22001) is a single mother taking care of her three children and mother. She has been looking after her three children (Age 15, 12 and 9) after their father abandoned them and moved away.
They live in a remote village in Badulla District. Currently, they survive through utilizing the savings and pension of Ms. CNK’s mother. Ms. CNK doesn’t work. She had to have surgery on her foot because of an infection exacerbated by diabetes.
Somedays they have nothing to eat and the eldest son is forced to climb a jackfruit tree to feed his family. Ms. CNK is keen on starting a poultry farm so she can sell the eggs in the market.
